My life before I joined Fisch Asset Management
After completing my
commercial apprenticeship in Zurich,
I pursued a business administration degree with a major in finance at HWZ Hochschule
für Wirtschaft Zürich. This enabled me after graduation to begin a traineeship
at Zürcher Kantonalbank in trading and research. Apart from the forex and equity
derivatives trading departments, the programme encompassed stints in the fields
of fund, bond, equity and sustainability research. The traineeship was also complemented
by an assignment with Credit Suisse in volatility management in New York. I subsequently
worked at Zürcher Kantonalbank as a fund analyst and was responsible for
convertible bonds, North American equities, Asia
and frontier markets. Through my fund evaluation activities and by getting to
know convertibles, the boutique Fisch Asset Management appeared on my personal radar,
and they offered me a new opportunity in portfolio management. Aside from work,
I continued my professional training and now hold such qualifications as Certified
International Investment Analyst (CIIA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
As a portfolio manager,
I share responsibility for our two fixed income strategies Fisch Bond Value and
Fisch Bond Value Investment Grade. My interesting and multifaceted activities include
market research, security analysis in cooperation with Independent Credit View
(I-CV), security selection, and portfolio construction and management. Giving
client presentations and attending conferences are also part of my job
description.
When I'm not working, then ...
… I frequently devote
my time to one of my athletic pursuits. These include swimming, running, wake surfing,
and biking in the mountains, with Üetliberg being a particularly favourite spot
on evenings. In Winter I enjoy the landscape while cross-country skiing or snowboard
touring. A good relationship with my significant other as well as a fine meal in
a relaxed atmosphere with friends and family also help to balance my life.
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
When I am on holiday,
I often travel to windy destinations to pursue my other hobby – kite surfing. During
these sessions, sometimes dozens of fish right next to me jump up and out of
the water, sniff the fresh air and dive once more – a wonderful sight. On
windless days, I enjoy the fantastic and diverse underwater world while scuba
diving. |
