My life before I joined Fisch Asset Management
After completing my university studies, I joined a new department at
Credit Suisse in 1990 that implemented the insights from modern
portfolio theory throughout the bank. My dissertation allowed me to
deepen my knowledge in the field of finance. In 2000, I was responsible
for the development and global distribution of risk-management and
performance-attribution software, for quantitative research and for two
quantitative stock funds, while also serving as a member of the
investment committee of CSPB. After ten eventful years at Credit
Suisse, I founded Dr. P. Gügi Consulting, which offers risk-management
software and advisory services.
I have been familiar with Fisch Asset Management since 2002 given that
they engaged my services to analyze their investment process and they
subscribed to my risk-management software.
After analyzing the investment process of the Swiss equities team at
Credit Suisse on a consulting basis, I accepted the offer in 2003 to
not only recommend what should be done but also to implement the new
concept. Four years later, the various products were repositioned and
above the benchmark. Meanwhile, Fisch Asset Management reached a very
interesting size with CHF 4 billion of assets and more than 30
employees, and I decided to relinquish my position as Head of Swiss
Equities and Global Equities as well as a member of the regional
management committee of CS Asset Management in order to take up a new
challenge with the dynamically growing Fisch Asset Management.
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
I am looking forward to
putting our vision into reality. Fisch Asset Management - the
independent boutique focussing on Convertible Bonds and Asymmetry -
demands to be a leader in each of its activities. The brand Fisch Asset
Management sets new standards with respect to client focussing and
company philosophy.
When I'm not working, then ...
… I really like to spend my time
participating in various sports (squash, fitness, cycling, etc.),
enjoying diverse culinary delights together with my girlfriend on
different continents (especially Asia), or reading a good book
(currently "The Wisdom of Crowds" by Surowiecki). Since 1999, I have
also served as a lecturer (Executive Master of Finance program) and
been a member of the Institute for Quantitative Research (INQUIRE).
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
I am surrounded by
fish. My parents, my godchild and my girlfriend were born under the
sign of Pisces. And is there anything better than enjoying a tab tim in
the Riverside Restaurant (Chiang Mai) or a red snapper under an open
sky on the island of Ko Lanta or Ko Samui? |
