My life before I joined Fisch Asset Management
I qualified from Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur
(still known at the time as HTL Winterthur) as an HTL graduate
electrical engineer with specialization in telecommunications and
information technology. After graduating, my first job was with the UBS
in the corporate banking sector where my principal task was software
development based on Unix.
I then moved to Telekurs Finanz AG where I worked on the financial data
model and was responsible in the main for financial derivatives. In
parallel with my professional activity, I began MBA studies; that gave
me an opportunity to join the Market Risk team at Credit Suisse First
Boston. I also worked in that capacity on the data model for financial
instruments and wrote pricing tools for plain vanilla options.
After completing my MBA studies, I transferred to Private Banking at CS
where I was responsible for the development of a new application for
the determination of lending rates in the secured loans (Lombard)
segment. At the end of 2005, I gave up my job with CS and returned to
the study benches. For two years, I worked to obtain the degree of
Master of Science in Financial Mathematics at Florida State University.
After completing that course, I had a unique opportunity to join Fisch
Asset Management.
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
I work as an analyst,
especially in the quantitative segment for Asset Management. In that
capacity I mainly undertake performance analyses, sensitivity analyses
and quantitative equity analyses.
When I'm not working, then ...
… I regularly practice several
kinds of sport. My core disciplines are swim, bike and run for which I
train intensively with my wife and occasionally measure my skills
against others in a triathlon. This also includes some power training
in the winter for which the gym right opposite our office provides a
most convenient opportunity. In winter I also like ski touring or cross
country skiing, snowboarding and downhill skiing. When I fly off to
warmer climes with my wife, we are keen on windsurfing.
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
I particularly
like eating fish. As my wife is a very good cook I enjoy beautifully
prepared fish almost every evening. When I go windsurfing, I also come
into contact with fish from time to time when they leap into the sail;
but this has not yet caused any serious incidents. Once, I had to make
a sharp turn to avoid two dolphins ahead of me. |
