My life before Fisch Asset Management
I grew up on the shores of beautiful Lake Neuchâtel, a wonderful area, where I lived until earning my Matura diploma. Subsequently, I decided to attend the University of St. Gallen (HSG), where I spent several years as a student, a doctoral candidate and ultimately a full-time lecturer (young lecturers programme). In my dissertation, I took an in-depth look at the theory and application possibilities of stochastic optimisation, a field of applied mathematics. As a researcher and later as a division head at the Institute for Operations Research and Computational Finance, I was involved in many applied research projects with partners from the financial sector. I began my professional career in 2005 at Bank Julius Baer in Zurich, first in asset management and later in wealth management (private banking). Before long, the opportunity arose for me to join Quantica Capital in the hedge fund industry. There, I learned to transform quantitative knowledge into trading strategies and to systematically implement such strategies in the market. The final stop on my career path before joining Fisch was at AIM Capital. There, I was initially responsible for the research area and later served as CIO for all investment strategies.
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
The focus of my work is the continuous development of our systematic trading strategies. I am pleased to have incorporated my knowledge and experience in this challenging job.
When I'm not working, then ...
I’m often stuck in traffic. Otherwise, I enjoy athletic pursuits and spend a lot of time swimming, biking and running. My wonderful family gives me much support in all of these activities. Unfortunately, the time I spend with them is much too brief.
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
Even though I grew up next to a lake, I only developed a taste for fish later in life. As a child, I clearly preferred a good slice of meat to a bony piece of fish. Only as I grew older did I discover the pleasures of eating seafood – starting with shellfish and eventually also including fish. My favourite fish dish is sea bass in a salt crust.
