My life before Fisch Asset Management
I completed my studies at the University of St. Gallen with a dissertation on options and convertible bonds, and began my professional career at Credit Suisse in 1988. I worked there for 20 years, starting as a derivatives specialist and working my way up to a broad asset management role. I then spent four years in Frankfurt as CEO of CSAM Germany, a time I remember fondly. From 2008 to 2011, I worked in Europe/Latam Sales and Client Service at Vontobel Asset Management. I’d say you could describe my career in three words: asset management, and clients, clients, clients.
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
As Head of Sales & Relationship Management International, I focus on business development and client services outside the D-A-CH countries.
When I'm not working, then ...
I like to spend time with my family, though living with three women (my wife & 2 daughters) can sometimes be quite exciting and surprising... Fitness, sports and hiking help me to maintain a sound body to go with my sound mind… I enjoy art (museums, operas, rock concerts), but only as a spectator because I was never blessed with artistic talent... Reading history books is a pleasant compensation for the fact that my inner homo economicus won out against the aesthete in me when choosing my university studies…
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
Fish always remind me of how important and healthy it is to try new things in life. Years ago when I was a student in the US, I was invited to my first sushi dinner. I can still remember how reluctant I was to taste raw fish, but in the end I took the plunge. I’m so glad I made that choice – now, sushi is one of my favourite foods!
