Fisch Asset Management appoints Ivan Nikolov as Head of Convertible Bonds

Ivan Nikolov has been appointed as Head of Convertible Bonds at Fisch Asset Management in Zurich following a successful transition.

Fisch Asset Management has appointed Nikolov as Head of the Convertible Bonds team, effective on April 1. The team comprises of five portfolio managers, overseeing five strategies with a total volume of around EUR 2 billion across the entire convertible bond risk spectrum. Thomas Fischli Rutz, Co-Head of Convertible Bonds, will continue to actively support the team and contribute his expertise.

Nikolov will also become a new member of the Portfolio Management Board, which includes Torsten von Bartenwerffer (CEO of Fisch), Thomas Fischli Rutz and Oliver Reinhard (Head of Developed Markets).

Nikolov first joined Fisch as a Co-Head of Convertible Bond earlier this year, and has had a very successful career as a senior portfolio manager at NN Investment Partners in London, where he co-managed convertible bond portfolios totalling more than USD 2 billion under management. Prior to that, he was a convertible bond portfolio manager at Aberdeen Asset Management. Nikolov graduated from Oxford University with MA, BA in Economics and Management.

Torsten von Bartenwerffer adds: “With his many years of experience and broad expertise, we are highly confident in Ivan to lead the convertible bond team and bring in new ideas. Together we will tackle the upcoming tasks in this area. I would also like to thank Thomas Fischli Rutz for his commitment as Co-Head. He will now concentrate more on his role as Head of Emerging Markets.”
