Fisch Asset Management has appointed Dr. Axel Potthof, a seasoned industry veteran, to its high-yield team. It is planned to further expand the product range in this area.

Fisch Asset Management has appointed Dr. Potthof to its high yield team. Together with Gerrit Bahlo, Dr. Potthof has been managing Fisch's CHF 900 million (EUR 940 million) global high-yield strategy as Senior Portfolio Manager since September 1.

Prior to joining Fisch Asset Management, Dr. Potthof worked at Pimco in Munich, for 22 years. In that role, he served as lead portfolio manager for European and global high-yield strategies and was responsible for assets under management of around three billion euros. He also led the European High Yield Desk, consisting of three portfolio managers and bond traders. Dr. Potthof studied business administration at the University of Mannheim, graduating with a degree in business administration (Diplomkaufmann). He then worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Accounting, Taxation and Auditing at the Open University of Hagen. Dr. Potthof has a doctorate in economics.

Commenting on his new role, Dr. Potthof says: “I am looking forward to working with the excellent team at Fisch Asset Management, including people I already know and greatly respect from my previous position at Pimco.”

CEO Juerg Sturzenegger says: “We are delighted to welcome Axel Potthof to Fisch Asset Management. He brings valuable experience to the table, which will enable us to expand our product range with a European high-yield strategy. The fact that we have been able to attract with Axel such a high-calibre professional to Fisch underlines that we are perceived as an attractive employer by established specialists.”
