My life before Fisch Asset Management
I began in the Credit Analysis Department of CS (formerly SKA) in 1987 and, as a junior analyst, experienced the first unexpected defaults in the bond markets (Bond Corp, Chase, Polly Peck, Heron). Later, I expanded my knowledge in the Research Department of CS Zurich and CSFB London as well as in the High Yield Research Department of CSFB New York and I became specialist in the rating of companies without an official credit rating, in the analysis of high yield securities (junk bonds, fallen angels) as well as in restructuring cases in Asia/Europe and the USA. After completing the CS International Banking School in New York, I worked in quantitative security analysis (equities) and later in equity portfolio management in the value investing area. Following these brief stints, I co-founded the independent rating-advisory boutique Independent Credit View in 2003 and was responsible for the philosophy of I-CV, "The View behind the rating".
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
Portfolio Manager and Head of Credit Research. My duties include identifying credit opportunities and new fallen angels. The team approach is very important to me in doing my job.
When I'm not working, then ...
…I love to spend my time with my family and our outdoor grill. Our troop can be quite entertaining, and there is always something creative happening. Apart from this, I also enjoy travelling (especially to London), cross-country skiing, organizing (village) parties and drinking a glass of red wine every now and then.
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
Sushi is not really my thing, so if get to choose, I'd rather have a nice piece of Angus beef. Although I think diving would be something I'd like, but I haven't had the opportunity to do it yet.
