My life before Fisch Asset Management
After completing a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and then a Masters in Finance, I (and my parents) decided it was time to join the world of ‘paid’ employment. I started my career in financial markets at Baring Asset Management, where I gained my credit analysis skills. I then spent time working at Principal Global Investors and Invesco Asset Management, both times focusing on credit. These roles greatly added to my experience, spanning very interesting periods, including the financial and sovereign crisis. I took this improved knowledge base back with me to Baring Asset Management where, again, I focused on global high yield credit.
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
I am a credit analyst on the corporate bond team, focusing on global high yield credit. I spend my time analysing companies in order to uncover attractive investment opportunities, and avoiding unattractive ones. I also spend my time keeping up to date with top-down market and sector trends, which help to provide perspective to my investment decisions.
When I'm not working, then ...
I am spending time with family. A by-product of this is the requirement to keep fit, in order to match the seemingly endless levels of energy that my two young boys have. This has led to a new hobby: cycling. This should help to ensure that I stay fit, while also allowing me to experience the beautiful scenery that Zurich has to offer. I also enjoy travelling and exposing my family and I to different cultures and ways of life.
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
To date, the significance of fish in my life has been relatively low, apart from the occasional swim alongside them on sea dives. But the significance of fish, since moving to Zurich, has greatly increased and likely to continue to do so. Be it through daily interactions at work or through various water activities on the lake.
