My life before Fisch Asset Management
Following my legal studies, I specialized in international law. I thus
spent two years in Hamburg while completing my doctoral thesis, and
after the bar exams I worked in the field of intellectual property.
From 1989 to 1994, I worked in the International Division of Zurich
Insurance. Our unit was responsible for the development and market
launch of new insurance products for multinational companies.
My duties at Fisch Asset Management
Thanks to my legal
education, we are in a position to develop our products ourselves
internally (funds, limited partnerships, etc.). When legally
structuring fund prospectuses, the fact that I am very familiar with
the investment process and the needs of clients is a great advantage.
Given this foundation, we are able to develop innovative and
tailor-made product solutions within a very short time.
On a day-to-day basis, my responsibilities include management
functions as well as the general organisation of the firm, and to a
lesser extent, various marketing activities.
When I'm not working, then ...
I spend the majority of my free
time with my family. Within this setting, I am able to fully indulge my
enjoyment of cooking. There is somewhat less time than I would like to
devote to my golf game at the moment. But I remain hopeful that this
situation will change at some point in the future. My other interests
include politics, sports and literature, though I pursue these only
sporadically.
What significance do "fish" have in my life?
I cannot deny a
relatively close relationship with fish. As a child, my last name
proved to be somewhat of a nuisance since it frequently invited
teasing. But already as a youth, the satisfaction of having a more
interesting name than Müller or Meier outweighed the drawbacks. |
